Bangor Erris

Bangor Erris, on the banks of the Owenmore River, is one of the gateway villages into Erris. The village is nestled at the foot of the famous Bangor Trail, a 22-mile mountain pass across the Nephin Beag Mountain Range, and through Ballycroy National Park. Bangor is famous for its fishing. People travel from all over Europe to fish in the river and in Carrowmore Lake.
